Challenge

Design a large custom residence that creates a strong connection between interior living and outdoor space across multiple levels. The project required a plan that could support both formal entertaining and relaxed daily life, with dining areas and balconies serving as genuine transitional spaces between inside and out — not incidental features.

Solution

The residence is organized around a clear sequence of interior and exterior spaces that unfold as the occupant moves through the home. Dining areas are positioned to open directly to balconies and outdoor terraces, blurring the boundary between the two and extending the effective living area of each primary zone. Multiple exterior perspectives — north, northeast, southwest, and southeast — were developed and refined to ensure the massing reads well from all approach angles and creates a composed, layered exterior. The plan balances spatial openness in communal areas with clearly defined private zones, producing a home that functions efficiently for everyday life while expanding generously for gatherings.

Result

A custom residence that integrates indoor-outdoor living at every level of the plan. The careful attention to balcony placement, view corridors, and massing composition produces a home with architectural coherence and spatial richness — designed to perform as well as it photographs, and to live even better than it looks.
