Residential
Challenge
The Angel Fire Residence is a custom mountain home in New Mexico: a context that demands architectural character appropriate to a high-altitude landscape, winter climate loads, and the specific material culture of the Southwest mountain region. The design had to be rooted in its place.
Solution
The design responds to the high-altitude mountain setting through massing, material, and roof geometry appropriate to New Mexico's climate and vernacular character. Exterior materials are durable and regional; the building's profile works with the surrounding landscape rather than imposing on it.
Result
A custom mountain residence that belongs to its Angel Fire setting, demonstrating Fine Line's ability to design custom homes across multiple western states and climate zones with the same quality of site-responsive design.

Custom Residential Design
"Mountain architecture has specific demands: snow loads, thermal performance, material durability, and visual character appropriate to a high-altitude landscape. Getting all of it right simultaneously is a design problem worth taking seriously."
The Angel Fire Residence extends Fine Line's custom residential range into a New Mexico mountain context: a demonstration of the practice's ability to design across the full range of Intermountain West climates and building cultures.
