Challenge

Design a large custom residence that blends Mediterranean warmth with contemporary openness. The home needed to support large-scale entertaining while also functioning as a comfortable private retreat, requiring careful planning of circulation, materiality, and the relationship between interior spaces and outdoor living areas.

Solution

The design is organized around a central kitchen conceived as the social hub of the home, anchoring a sequence of living and dining spaces that open to covered outdoor terraces. Stucco and stone detailing on the exterior establish a refined, transitional character that respects the site's landscape context while avoiding period literalism. Interior finishes - including custom millwork, ceiling treatments, and curated material selections - reinforce warmth and continuity throughout. Private suites are arranged for quiet retreat, separated from public areas by carefully designed circulation. The result is a home that accommodates both the scale of entertaining and the intimacy of daily family life.
